Australia's Strategic Critical Minerals Reserve

planned

Australia has passed legislation empowering Export Finance Australia to trade and stockpile rare earths and critical minerals. The project involves establishing a strategic stockpile capability with an initial capital allocation of A$1.2 billion to manage fuel reserves and critical minerals inventories, including rare earth elements, antimony, and gallium. The initiative aims to enhance energy security, supply chain resilience, and market stability through direct commodity purchasing, stockpile management, market intervention, and off-take agreements with domestic producers.
