Automated Multi-Level Car Parking Facilities in Bengaluru

The Bengaluru traffic police have identified 66 sites for building automated or semi-automated multi-level car parking facilities (MLCP) mainly in high footfall and commercial hubs. These smart MLCPs use lifts, hydraulic platforms, or robotic systems to stack vehicles vertically and horizontally, housing 485 cars in a G+9 floor layout with seven lifts. The system eliminates the need for circulation ramps and driveways, maximizing capacity in a small footprint, and uses sensors and computerized tracking for vehicle storage and retrieval, reducing retrieval time and manual intervention. The project will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model with the estimated cost borne by the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).
