Description | In June 2014, Estructura Plural Proyecto Conexion Pacífico 1, a partnership of Episol (subsidiary of Corficolombiana, Colombia, 60%) and Iridium/ACS Group (Spain, 40%), won in a competitive bidding the right to expand, rehabilitate and operate the 46 km of the Autopista Conexion Pacifico 1 highway connecting the cities of Ancon Sur-Camilo Ce and Camilo Ce-Bolombolo. The bidding criteria was the lowest funding to be provided by the government. Two groups of companies presented offers: Estructura Plural Proyecto Conexion Pacifico 1; and Infraestructura Vial para Colombia. Estructura Plural Proyecto Conexion Pacifico 1's request was 13% below the ceiling established by the government, a value of US$ 515.5 million, or 57.5% of the project costs. The investment was estimated at US$ 895.8 million. The 25-year concession contract was signed in September 2014. The sponsors created the company Concesionaria Vial del Pacífico S.A.S. to lead the project. In May 2016, the sponsors closed a project finance deal worth US$ 855 million. The deal involves a US$ 150 million loan from Mizuho, Credit Agricole, SMBC, CaixaBank in equal tickets of $37.5 million; and US$ 705 million loan provided by Davivienda (20%) and four other local lenders owned by Grupo Aval (80%) – Banco de Occidente, Banco Popular, Banco AV Villas, led by Banco de Bogota.
