Description | Autovia Urbana Norte was a 9km elevated ring road designed to ease the flow of traffic in northeast Mexico City, which was highly congested. The northernmost section was to link with Viaducto Bicentenario, owned by OHL (Spain). A build, own and transfer (BOT) contract was awarded to OHL Concesiones (Spain) by the Federal District of Mexico City. The contract was for 30 years from the start of operation, approximately 33 years in tottal. Further tendering information was not available. The total project cost was US $801 million. The project reached financial closure with a US$431.4 million syndicated loan and a 174.2 million subordinated debt from Mexico's state infrastructure fund Fonadin. Operations on the first phase of the toll road commenced in the end of 2011, and the construction works were completed by the end of 2012. |
