Aviary at Mulund

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has floated a Rs 166 crore tender to construct an exotic bird park or aviary at Nahur in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai. The aviary is planned on the lines of Singapore's Jurong Bird Park and will house exotic as well as indigenous birds. The facility will include multiple zones representing different continents, an interpretation centre, a hospital for birds, quarantine facilities, and recreational amenities such as a public garden, swimming pool, basketball court, and tennis court. The project includes heavy infrastructure work like an underground automatic parking system for 60 cars. The aviary is planned to be operational by early 2028.
