Description
Description | Awel y Môr is a planned 576 MW offshore wind farm located off the coast of North Wales, UK, adjacent to the existing Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm. The project will feature up to 50 turbines and generate electricity to power hundreds of thousands of UK homes. Geotechnical survey works are scheduled to start at the site on 12 May 2026 and continue until 15 June 2026, subject to weather and sea conditions. The survey involves cone penetration tests, seismic CPT, and vibrocoring, carried out by GEO using the vessel Connector. The project was awarded a seabed lease agreement by the Crown Estate in 2020 and received development consent in 2023. RWE secured Contracts for Difference for the project in January 2026. |
