Description

Description

The objective of the Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Project (AZURE) as Phase 4 of the Europe and Central Asia Renewable Energy Scale-up (ECARES) Program using a Multiphase Programmatic Approach (MPA) is to enable renewable energy integration and ensure stability in Azerbaijan’s power grid. There are two components to the project, the first component being Absheron Garadagh wind power plant connection and transmission network expansion. This component will finance the transmission infrastructure required to evacuate power from the 240 MW Absheron-Garadagh Wind Power Plant and expand the grid to enhance reliability. This component includes two subcomponents: connection of Absheron Garadagh wind power plant and 330 kV Expansion, and 500 kV Expansion. The second component is the project implementation support. This component will finance consulting services, technical assistance, capacity building, and auditing services to the PIU for project implementation and supervision, including the provision of a supervision engineer to assist the PIU in the implementation of component 1 of the project, technical assistance and support (in areas including, among others, procurement, contract supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and implementation of environmental and social (E&S) requirements), project audit, and capacity building to enhance the skills and career prospects of women in the energy sector.
