Azov International Sea Port

active

The Azov Port started operations in 1904, and, in 1993, as part of the Russian government privatization program, the Azov Sea Port Joint-Stock Company was created. Through a voucher program, 51% of the shares were transferred to private persons and 21% to investors. Loading and unloading of different freights are undertaken at the port, and export cargo transportation dominates. During the 1995-1998 period, a total of US$ 6 million was invested in infrastructure. In 2000, a second stage of the expansion plans started: US$ 35 million will be invested, of which US$ 24.7 million was undertaken in 2000 alone.
