Information Water Resources Department, Govt. of A.P has come up with B R R VamsadhraaProject Phase II of Stage II Development Project with a ticket size of 2407.79 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project This is a major Irrigation Project proposes to irrigate 45,000 Acres in 225 Villages under 9 mandals of Srikakulam District in addition to supplementing water to right main canal. The project comprises of construction of side weir @ Katragada V, Bhamini M of Srikakulam District. The water so impounded is proposed to be diverted to fill Hiramandalam Reservoir through 33.704 Km length of flood flow canal. Apart from filling the Hiramandalam Reservoir of storage capacity 19.05 Tmc, the flood flow canal proposes to fill two small balancing reservoirs @ Parapuram and Singidi, enroute the flood flow canal. The capacity of Parapuram and Singidi reservoirs are 0.404 Tmc and 0.0686 Tmc respectively. The flood flow canal contemplates to irrigate 20,000 Acres and the High Level Canal taking off from Hiramandalam Reservoir contemplates to irrigate 5000 acres. The works have been taken up in three EPC Packages viz., Package 87, Package 88 and Hiramandalam Reservoir.
