B28 Indigenous High-Speed Train Project

The project involves the design, manufacturing, and development of India's first fully indigenous high-speed train called B28, capable of speeds up to 280 kmph. The manufacturing is done at the Aditya high-speed rail complex at BEML's Tippasandra Campus in Bengaluru, which is equipped to produce over 800 coaches annually using advanced manufacturing techniques. The project also includes plans for future trains like the B35, capable of 350 kmph. The B28's maiden run is planned on a 97-km stretch between Surat and Vapi on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail corridor. The project aims to significantly reduce travel times, such as between Chennai and Bengaluru to 73 minutes, and improve intercity connectivity.
