The consortium, led by the European Jewish Congress (EJC), the representative umbrella organisation of Jewish communities in Europe, together with communal security arm SACC by EJC, the Jewish Community of Vienna (IKG Wien) and Faith Matters (FM) propose the following activities as part of the BADRI project: - Raise awareness about Jewish life and culture by designing and publishing a series of animated cartoon videos on Jewish life and Judaism – Jewish Educational Cartoons (The JEC project) - Expand the capacity of the LIKRAT concept facilitating real-life encounters between Jews and non-Jews in Austria with an eye to the establishment of a pan-European LIKRAT network. - Hold a Resilient Communities Conference (RCC) to improve cooperation between faith-based communities and the judiciary against antisemitism and other kinds of discrimination. - Build the resilience of Jewish communities against antisemitic attacks through the dedicated SAFE digital platform with security awareness resources targeted to children. - Build the capacity of Jewish communities to respond to antisemitic attacks and promote rights awareness through trainings (PREACT-Prevention and Action). Through these activities, we aim to promote knowledge of Judaism, Jewish life, culture, tradition, and history, showcase the diversity of contemporary Jewish life in the EU, promote cooperation and understanding between faith-based communities, improve the response by police and the judiciary on religiously motivated hate crimes from an intersectional perspective, and promote security awareness and build resilience among Jewish communities and the wider public. The BADRI project will reach an approx. 16,500 direct and 180,000 indirect beneficiaries across the EU and support the implementation of the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life.
