Description

Description

Eni made two new gas discoveries off the coast of Libya, at the Bahr Essalam South 2 (BESS 2) and Bahr Essalam South 3 (BESS 3) geological structures. These discoveries are located approximately 85 kilometers offshore in about 650 feet of water and 16 kilometers south of the Bahr Essalam gas field. The wells encountered gas-bearing intervals within the Metlaoui Formation, with preliminary estimates indicating more than 1 trillion cubic feet of gas in place. The proximity to the existing Bahr Essalam field will enable rapid development through tie-back to existing offshore facilities.
