Description | The scope of the project involves the development of a 1.5 GW transmission line that will link the Electric System of Baja California with the National Interconnected Electric System. The 1,400 km line will connect Mexicali, Baja California on the Mexico-US border and Hermosillo, Sonora, and will feature high voltage direct current technology. The Ministry of Energy (SENER) will award a design, finance, build, operate and transfer (DFBOT) contract to the successful bidder. The term of the contract will be 30 years. At the end of the term all the assets will be transferred to the Mexican State. |
