Description | The Bakken East pipeline is a planned natural gas pipeline running approximately 350 miles from Watford City to Mapleton, North Dakota. The project aims to nearly double the capacity to move natural gas across the state, with potential branch lines to the Spiritwood Energy Park Association's industrial park and south to Ellendale. Environmental and cultural surveys are ongoing, with public open houses planned and right-of-way acquisition anticipated in 2027 and 2028. Construction is planned to start in 2029 west of the Missouri River and in 2030 in eastern North Dakota. The project seeks 125-foot-wide easements for construction and 50-foot easements for operations, with land restoration after installation. |
