Description | The Baltana rail underbridge project aims to construct a road underbridge on the Chandigarh-Ambala rail route to ease traffic congestion at the Raipur Kalan-Baltana railway crossing. The project is a joint venture between the Railways and the Union Territory (UT) administration. After delays due to land acquisition and funding issues, the UT administration has approved the release of ₹6.4 crore to the Railways, which is 50% of the UT's share of the revised ₹12.81 crore project cost. The land acquisition process has been completed, and construction is expected to start in January and be completed within eight months. |
