Baltic Defense Line Concrete Bunkers

under construction

Estonia has begun construction of the first concrete bunkers on its southeastern border with Russia as part of the Baltic defense line. The project involves installing 600 fortifications designed to withstand hits from 152 mm artillery shells, integrated into a multi-layered defense system on NATO's eastern flank. The first stage includes installation of 28 bunkers, with seven already delivered near Setomaa municipality. The project faces coordination challenges requiring approvals from military, police, border guards, local councils, and private landowners.
