BANEL & ADAMA by Ramata-Toulaye Sy is the only debut feature selected in Cannes Competition 2023. The project aim at supporting its wider distribution in Europe outside of its country of origin, by encouraging sales agent and theatrical distributors to invest in promotion and adequat distribution. The activities to be funded are part of a campaign for a pan-European theatrical and online distribution, coordinated by the sales agent, however focusing on theatrical, and include coordination of the release, creation of common marketing materials, and innovative methods to reach new audiences. We gathered 11 distributors for distribution on 14 territories, and sold the film in several countries outside Europe. Through implementation of the detailed strategy, we expect a global reach for this debut feature in and outside Europe, aiming at maximum availability, discoverability and prominence- while defending cultural diversity and emergence of a new voice for women director and African cinema. Outputs collected will be commercial results and festivals selections, along with materials created by the grouping. Implementation period is between October 11th, 2023 and October 12th, 2025.
