Description

Description

The key aim of the of the Reaching Out-of-School Children Project for Bangladesh is to reduce the number of out-of-school children through improved access, quality and efficiency in primary education, especially for the disadvantaged children, in support of GOB'S national "Education for All" goals. There are four project components that support (1) improving access to quality education for out-of-school children to facilitate their completion of primary schooling through: (a) education allowances for eligible students; and (b) grants to Learning Centers (LCs) where the students enroll; (2) communications and social awareness to raise awareness about the project, mobilize stakeholders to open new LCs or expand existing LCs, and disseminate information on qualification criteria, resource support, and other operational guidelines to stakeholders; (3) project management and institutional strengthening to establish a sound structure for project management and implementation, and strengthen the capacity to deliver quality primary education to out-of-school children; and (4) monitoring, evaluation and research to provide an effective monitoring and evaluation system to monitor the use of education allowances and grants support, and evaluate the two alternatives.
