Description

In the event of an eligible crisis or emergency, the CERP can be activated to finance immediate response needs, as applicable, depending on the nature of the crisis. This is intended to mitigate the immediate impacts of crises on affected populations by aiding access to critical supplies and the resources needed for immediate response. Tailored to the crisis context, this includes but not limited to: emergency livelihood support to affected individuals and households by providing cash transfers and social protection support, provision of essential emergency supplies and services to sustain the delivery of critical services and ensure the accessibility of essential supplies during and after emergencies i.e., temporary fuel and energy supplies to meet emergency response needs and continuity of essential services, and fuel storage equipment for critical facilities, food staples and nutritional supplies, fertilizers, livestock feeds, and agricultural inputs, essential medicines, pharmaceutical products and essential medical equipment, potable water, hygiene kits, emergency shelter kits, other essential emergency supplies and services for implementation of CERP activities, temporary payment of electricity and supply related to an eligible crisis or emergency, and/or the purchase of energy to cover needs arising from an eligible crisis, and incremental operational expenditures for emergency response management incurred by the Government of Bangladesh for an eligible crisis including operating costs of essential services to ensure business continuity.
