Description
Description | This project is the third pillar of a long-standing tradition of EU-funded projects in the banking sector. After a successful two-phase project (VS/2016/0423 and VS/2019/0005) aimed at assessing the impact of current banking regulation on employment related aspects in the banking sector, the European Social Partners for Banking are now adopting a forward-looking approach to assess the impact of digitalisation, especially Artificial Intelligence, on the banking industry and its employees in the upcoming decade. This will encompass relevant additional banking regulation in this area as it is being developed. Moreover, in this scenario the project aims at analysing the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and evaluating possible regulation or regulatory developments to mitigate these effects. Given this context, the project has also the objective of enquiring what role the Social Partners can play to influence these regulatory developments in a beneficial way for employers and employees in addition to what already stated their Joint Declaration on the Impact of Covid-19 Emergency Crisis Banking an Insurance Sector of 30 March 2020. |
