Banpong Utilities Company Limited, wholly owned by EGCO, develops 2 co-generation power plant projects: SK Cogen and TP Cogen, with the installed capacity of 125 MW each. The projects are located in Thapha sub-district, Banpong district, Ratchaburi province. SK Cogen and TP Cogen have entered into the PPAs with EGAT for 25 years with the contracted capacity of 90 MW each. Additionally, the projects have the long-term (20 years) contracts with industrial users to sell remaining electricity along with steam output. This project is being developed under the SPP program. Thus, eligible renewable SPPs receive a subsidy of up to 0.89 US cents (0.36 baht) per kilowatt-hour for the first five years of operation. The project reached financial close on 28th March 2016. Financing comprises two debt tranches - $133 million (THB 4.7 billion) and a $103 million term loans. MLAs are SMBC, Mizuho, KasikornBank, Bank of Ayudhya and TMB Bank. The commercial operation date are scheduled in October 2017.
