Description

Description

This IFC Upstream project entails an investment of 30% of the feasibility development costs or up to US$1M in cost-sharing funding support for Pavimentos Colombia S.A.S. and Structure Asset Management S.A.S, the project Sponsors, to develop the feasibility stage of a Private Initiative (“IP”) proposal to operate, modernize, and expand the Ernesto Cortissoz Airport (“AEC”), located in the city of Soledad (near Barranquilla) in the Caribbean region of Colombia. The IP includes expanding the landing strip, terminal, cargo infrastructure, and MRO facilities, along with enhancing the operational efficiency and security of the airport. IFC expects to support the evolution of this critical asset by helping the Sponsors enhance and de-risk their IP and comply with international and gender sustainability standards, improve decarbonization efforts, promote alignment with Universal Design standards, and ensure that specific mitigation measures consistent with Airport Carbon Accreditation (“ACA”) levels are adopted.[
