Description | A $350 million hybrid renewable energy power plant is scheduled to be constructed in Barbados. It will be the largest and most advanced facility in the area, using solar energy along with hydrogen and battery storage to ensure a steady power supply day and night. The facility will operate as an independent clean energy producer and sell electricity to the Barbados Light and Power Co. The hydrogen is produced by splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen, with hydrogen stored and used in fuel cells to generate electricity, and batteries providing backup for stable power supply.
