Description

The Departamento Tecnico Administrativo del Medio Ambiente de Barranquilla (DAMAB - Barranquilla's Environmental Agency) carried out a public tender in 2005 for a sewerage treatment plant project in Barranquilla. On December 20, 2005 DAMAB awarded the Greenfield project to a consortium formed by Obresca, Consultores del Desarrollo S.A. (Condesa) and Hidrotec. The contract for the water treatment plant was awarded to the consortium for a total of US$3.37 million (7,700 million pesos), after the bidding process began in October. The project consists of designing, constructing, operating and maintaining a plant capable of treating at least 350 liters per second. The construction phase of the project must be completed within 12 months of the project being awarded. The works will take a year to complete and will be in operation by 2006. http://www.damab.gov.co/contrataciones.htm
