Description | Grupo Arquero Delfor invested US$ 2 million in the construction of a 1.2-MW solar power plant in the municipality of Tecoluca, Department of San Vicente. In 2014, the regulatory agency CNE established a public bidding for the sale of electricity from renewable sources. The winners were granted a 15-year power purchase agrément with a electricity distribution company. Grupo Arquero was one of the winners, and the electricity produced by the power plant was set to be sold to the distribution company Delsur. The EPC contract was undertaken by the Spanish company Enerland and the Salvadorian company GreeNRG. Construction works commenced sometime in late 2014 and early 2015. Commercial operations started in March 2015. |
