Description

The aim of the FC measure is to contribute to improving the health situation of women and children through better nutrition. The aim of the emergency aid measure is to reduce the worst effects of the current crisis and cushion the difficult transformation process. The FC measure is being implemented by the World Food Programme (WFP). In detail, parts of the Emergency Food and Nutrition Support to food insecure and conflict-affected People EMOP 200451 program are being financed. The WFP program includes the following components: (1) food aid for malnourished children (6-59 months), pregnant and breastfeeding women; (2) emergency food security system in 14 governorates. The EMOP listed above will support up to 5 million vulnerable people throughout Yemen from the beginning of 2013 to mid-2014. The German contribution of up to EUR 10 million is intended to support the emergency aid program as a follow-up phase of the co-financing under BMZ No. 2013 65 253.
