Description

Description

The aim of the FC measure is to contribute to improving the health situation of women and children by countering or preventing malnutrition and malnutrition. This emergency aid measure is intended to reduce the worst effects of the ongoing economic crisis now that the political transformation process has failed and Yemen is at war. The FC measure is being implemented directly by the World Food Programme (WFP) as a continuation of the support from the previous year. In February 2014, the WFP presented a new two-year programme (July 2014 - June 2016) for Yemen (Protracted Relief and Recovery Operations - Yemen PRRO- 200636) with total financing requirements of just over USD 491 million to support up to 6 million Yemenis in need, particularly women and children. The new project is intended to ensure temporary food aid for particularly needy households through the distribution of food. The German contribution of EUR 25.94 million is to be implemented in 2015.
