Description
Description | Germany’s federal state of Bavaria has initiated a second pilot feed-in socket project, which involves the construction of a new substation as a shared grid connection point for photovoltaic facilities with a combined installed capacity of 112 MW. The project will be implemented in the municipality of Niederviehbach by electricity distribution company Bayernwerk and is based on the idea of coordinated and efficient feed-in of renewable energy. The project encourages the establishment of storage systems co-located with the solar capacity, allowing installed generation capacity to exceed available grid-connection capacity. This project follows the successful launch of Germany’s first feed-in socket in Balzhausen and is part of a distribution grid initiative started by the Bavarian ministry in 2022. |
