BAXLEY DOWNTOWN STREETSCAPE & WELCOME CENTER - PHASE II

The proposed project is a phase II streetscape project in the City of Baxley, Appling County, Georgia. This project would include concrete sidewalks with curb and gutter, decorative brick pavers and landscaping. The existing conditions in the area include sidewalks that are uneven and cracked. They vary from 5-6 feet wide. Landscaping is minimum. The new construction would include a new sidewalk in the median of Park Avenue that will be concrete with curb and gutter. The sidewalk on Park Avenue will include landscaping with irrigation. The landscaped area will consist of Georgia native trees and shrubs. Construction on Park Avenue will take place within the median between U.S. Highway 1 and Fair Street. (U.S. Highway 1 runs along Main Street.) The existing parking along the median will remain. The new sidewalk along Tippins Street will include a concrete sidewalk with crosswalks and curb and gutter. Decorative brick pavers will be used on the crosswalks.
