BC Hydro - Customer Connection Project: Martini Film Studios Electrification

BC Hydro’s customer is building the large, phased Martini Film Studio (MFS) development at 216th street and 80th avenue with expected load of 12MW. To supply the customer with 12 MW of clean and renewable electricity, BC Hydro will construct a new circuit extension from the existing Fleetwood substation. This will require pulling approximately 8 km of new cable (i.e., powerline) from Fleetwood substation in Surrey to 176th St and 64th Ave. Project works include: • Extend approximately 3 km of feeder cable through new duct bank along 152 Street from 72 Avenue to 64 Avenue; • Extend approximately 5km of feeder cable along 64 Avenue from 152 to 176 • Install approximately 850 m of feeder cable from Fraser Highway to 200 Street along Production Way; • Upgrade approximately1.63 km of feeder cable • Install approximately1 km of UD cable between 10 junction boxes; and • Install one 5-way automated vista. Electrical (Overhead) • Install approximately 3 overhead switches; • Install approximately 3 terminal poles; • Approximately 760 m double circuit along Glover Road to 64 Avenue. • Install approximately 800 m of new 12-way duct bank along 64 Avenue from 172 to 176 Street, connect to existing duct bank; • Install approximately 850 m of 16-way duct bank from Fraser Highway to 200 Street along Production Way; • Install approximately 10 junction boxes onsite for UD backbone; • Install civil for onsite above ground 5-way automated vista; and, • All related works.
