The BC Hydro Customer Connection Project: ARC Resources Electrification (the project) includes the construction of one tap for the Attachie project, and the installation of a fourth transformer within BC Hydro’s Bear Mountain Terminal substation to supply the Dawson facility. A tap is the electrical connection point between the customer’s transmission line and BC Hydro’s electricity grid. The tap and transformer are required to supply electricity to the Attachie and Dawson natural gas processing facilities, respectively. Project works for the tap: • Construction of a 138 kilovolt tap on a BC Hydro transmission line. Work includes the following: o a single-pole vertical dead-end tap structure is proposed for connection to transmission line 1L364 o three sectionalizing switches will be installed at the tap o modifications will be required to a couple of existing BC Hydro structures and new structures will be installed o key activities for tap construction include the following: right-of-way clearing for new structures, road access to tap structures, reclamation following project completion of the tap Project works for the transformer: • Installation of a fourth 230 kilovolt:138 kilovolt stepdown transformer at the Bear Mountain Terminal substation • Work will be undertaken within the fenced yard of the substation and includes the following: o purchase and installation of a transformer o excavation and construction for a new concrete foundation for the transformer o design, supply and installation of structural steel supports for the transformer bus connections (a bus is an electrical connection between two points)
