BC Hydro Customer Connection Project: Capilano University Electrification

Capilano University has requested to extend service capabilities to the primary service at their North Vancouver campus located at 2055 Purcell Way. The increase in load from 1.4 MW to 4.2 MW over the next 10 years will result in the need to Extend new underground feeder from Lynn Valley substation to the project site. The conceptual level scope consists of constructing approximately 1.3 km of 6-way feeder duct bank along Fern Street, Lillooet Road and Purcell Way. Existing duct bank on Mountain Highway and Keith Road is planned to be utilized. The Project consists of the following physical works: - construction of an approx. 260 m 6-125 feeder duct bank on Fern Street (Mountain Hwy to Lillooet Road) - construction of an approx. 750 m 6-125 feeder duct bank on Lillooet Road (Fern St to Purcell Way) - construction of an approx. 325 m 6-125 feeder duct bank on Purcell Way (Lillooet Rd to 2055 Purcell Way) - installation of an approx. 5km underground feeder cable (LYN substation to 2055 Purcell Way) - installation of approx. 1 automated Vista switch and civil on-site, location to be determined by customer and all related works.
