CONNECT International (CI) is a European network of youth organizations with an idea to connect all organisations advocating for digitalisation and organisations advocating for a rights-approach in innovation. Founded over 13 years ago by YOs across Europe, CI emerged as a response to the growing need to connect advocates for digital rights with those promoting ethical, inclusive digital innovation. CI has grown into a Brussels-based network representing 53 members in 31 countries. CI’s mission is to ensure that young people are empowered to access and fully benefit from the opportunities of digital transformation. CI operates under a democratic, participatory, and inclusive management model, ensuring that members co-define, and co-implement the organization’s strategy and activities through key-bodies like General Assembly, Executive Board, Financial Control Commission, European Secretariat, Working Groups and Pool of Experts/Trainers. CI’s work is driven by its Strategic Plan, developed by members and approved by the General Assembly. The strategy is built around interconnected pillars: Digital Rights, Digital Citizenship, Digital transformation, Digital mainstreaming and Internal development. CI builds its work around advocating youth-centric digital policies, supporting youth organizations in adapting to digital change, empowering young people to thrive as informed, active, and protected digital citizens. We gather cross-sectoral support, increase institutional cooperation with national and European institutions and policy members, engage with educational institutions, build up synergies with the private/business sector and big tech companies and cooperate closely with local, regional and national policy makers, institutional representatives, decision makers, councils, municipalities. Through our collaborative model and values-driven strategy, we work to ensure that no young person is left behind in Europe’s digital future.
