Best Project wants to involve several municipalities from all over Europe with the main objective to share traditions and cultural peculiarities in order to increase the understatement and the tolerance among each other. In fact, the Project brings together municipalities with a shared historical background: all the partners are anchored to secular traditions, starting from the medieval age. The aim of BEST is to start a confrontation about the developments of the different cultures over the centuries, basing on the idea to comprehend the present starting from the past. In this context, the participants can focus on the Importance of the cultural richness of Europe, valorizing the diversity and contrasting the uniformization that today is pressing the societies also because of globalization. The discussion is also based on the future of Europe, as the values and the European cultural heritage represent its basis. The general objectives are: - To promote the intercultural exchange among European citizens; - To give the participants the opportunity to discover the cultural diversity of the European Union, together with its values and heritage; - To assure pacific relationships among the Countries and to assure the active participation at local level; - To strengthen the mutual comprehension and friendship among European citizens; - To encourage the cooperation among municipalities and the exchange of good practices; - To support a good local administration and to empower the role of the local and regional authorities in the process of European integration. The actions to be carried out during the Project are: - An international meeting in Soriano nel Cimino (IT) where the delegations will carry out debates, workshops, seminars, exchange of best practices about the importance of cultural diversity for the future of the Union; - Local round-tables to raise awareness about the Project's objectives and to have a strong impact on local communities.
