Disaster preparedness in the MENA region is a critical issue, as natural hazards like earthquakes and floods continue to threaten communities. Many youth NGOs lack the necessary training, tools, and networks to respond effectively. This project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth organizations by providing comprehensive training, simulation-based toolkits, and a digital collaboration platform to enhance disaster response skills and coordination. The project consists of seven key work packages (WPs): WP1 (Buruciye GED): Ensures effective project coordination, risk management, and timely implementation. WP2 (PUI): Develops a disaster preparedness training module with a handbook, digital materials, and assessments for youth NGOs. WP3 (Buruciye GED): Creates a simulation-based disaster preparedness toolkit with realistic training scenarios to improve decision-making skills. WP4 (STT): Conducts a Training of Trainers program to equip staff with the skills to train disaster volunteers. WP5 (All Partners): Tests the project tools in real-world piloting and establishes a MENA-wide online collaboration platform for NGOs. WP6 (Buruciye GED): Produces a policy recommendations report to advocate for stronger disaster response strategies. WP7 (Buruciye GED): Leads the dissemination and sustainability strategy, including publications, events, and digital outreach. Outputs & Impact The project will deliver training modules, a disaster simulation toolkit, a digital NGO network, and policy recommendations. These resources will empower youth organizations, improving their preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. By engaging youth workers, policymakers, and community leaders, the project will ensure long-term sustainability and strengthen regional cooperation in disaster management.
