Description | Hut 8 has signed a 15-year lease worth $9.8 billion for its Beacon Point data center campus in Nueces County, Texas. The project is part of a planned 1 gigawatt campus designed to meet the growing demand for energy-intensive AI data centers. The first phase covers 352 MW capacity with an undisclosed tenant who will install computing equipment for large-scale AI training and operations. Power connection is expected in early 2027, with the first building completion later that year. The facility is designed using Nvidia's latest data center systems and is being built with partners including American Electric Power, Vertiv, and Jacobs. |
