Beams Road Overpass Rail Crossing Removal

The Beams Road overpass is a rail crossing removal project in Brisbane's north, connecting Gympie and Sandgate Roads and crossing the Redcliffe rail line. The overpass has taken three years to build and has been planned for more than a decade. It aims to boost travel reliability for both road and rail users and future-proof the roadway. The overpass is currently open to westbound traffic, with a second eastbound lane expected to open later in September, after which the rail crossing will be permanently closed and work on a second bridge will begin. The bridges will include footpaths to help local residents get around safely.
