Description | New York State will spend $25 million over two years on upgrades at Bear Mountain State Park. The project includes a playground with multi-leveled play areas, expanded paved picnic areas to increase capacity and reduce erosion, landscape enhancements with new trees and native plants, construction of a high-capacity public restroom building and plaza, daylighting a stormwater drainage pipe to reduce sediment in Hessian Lake, modernizing electrical infrastructure, and making structural repairs. Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2027. |
