The project will rehabilitate and add new facilities at the public beach areas in Bearskin Lake, Ontario. The work will involve: Design of the beach areas; - Construction of a 16 x 30 ft pavilion at each beach (2); - Clearing, clean-up, granular, and paving at each beach; - Purchase and install of picnic tables, commercial garbage receptacles, and benches at each of the sites; - and Potential washroom facilities at each of the two beach sites. The project will enable the community to improve access to and quality of community, cultural and recreational infrastructure by renovating and expanding the existing two (2) beaches in Bearskin Lake to encourage use as a gathering place for community members. The development of the beaches will foster the use of the area as a cultural and community gathering place for Bearskin Lake and will serve the entire on-reserve population of Bearskin Lake (500 people) as well as any visitors to the community, and will also serve as a recreation facility for the community, especially to the children of Bearskin Lake.
