"The project ""Beats of Unity (Meeting of twinning and partner municipalities in Janíky on the occasion of the Upper Žitný Island/Hornožitnoostrovský Cultural Festival 2025)"" aims to strengthen solidarity, belonging and European identity between municipalities from different European countries. The main outcome is a three-day event in the municipality of Janíky, Slovakia, which will take place on 15-17 August 2025. The aim is to create a platform for exchanging experiences, promoting cultural heritage and finding solutions to challenges such as Euroscepticism, ageing population and gender inequality. The project takes inspiration from the New European Bauhaus Initiative and focuses on creating beautiful and inclusive spaces. The project partners are municipalities and cities from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Serbia. Participants will engage in workshops, civic dialogues and panel discussions to discuss the role of cultural heritage in shaping European identity and strengthening European solidarity. The final outcome will be a "" Janíky Declaration on Solidarity and Cooperation,"" which will include concrete measures to promote European integration and cooperation between the municipalities. The project is guided by the principles of gender equality and non-discrimination, ensuring an inclusive environment for all participants. EU funding will be visibly communicated, highlighting the importance of European support for local initiatives. ""Beats of Unity"" is an ambitious project aiming to create a lasting positive impact on the partner municipalities and their inhabitants, to promote European identity and solidarity, and to inspire other communities to take similar initiatives."
