Description

Description

BeGlobal aims to foster internationalisation of higher education and active global citizenship in Colombia and Chile, with the final goal to contribute to improve the social cohesion of this region. To do that, the project will train and implement practical cases on the fields of “Global Citizenship” and “Internationalisation for society” by the use of innovative pedagogical paths and gamification education tools, especially the serious games. To have a bigger impact, the project will develop local alliances to spread the impacts to the whole society. Target groups who will benefit the project: Higher education staff (academic and administrative) form Colombia and Chile; students, most of them providing from vulnerable sectors; and civic society as a whole, with special focus on NGO. The BeGlobal impacts will be expected at 3 levels: At the individual level, with an increase of knowledge and soft skills on Global Citizenship; awareness on the social and global responsibility; international experiences. Furthermore, the HEI staff will increase their competences in innovative pedagogy methods, digital learning tools; and internationalization at home. At the institutional level, it is expected that HEIs partners will improve their capacities in internationalization initiatives and activities; and become a main actor in the local and regional development. At the systemic level, the project expects a change of attitudes and behaviors that create more responsible citizens; and better general soft skills and expertise more aligned to the labor market and society’s needs. In summary, BeGlobal aims to increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will contribute in long-term to develop active citizenship, and therefore, better future leaders capable of responding to the 21st political, social, economic and environmental challenges with a social and global responsibility approach.
