The project involves the implementation of behind-the-meter microgrids at manufacturing facilities across Africa. These microgrids use local generation sources such as solar power, battery storage, and thermal generation (diesel or gas) to supply power directly to the facility. The goal is to reduce dependence on unreliable national grids, improve power quality and availability, lower energy costs, and support sustainability goals by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
