Description | Belmont Park is undergoing a $575 million renovation project including the construction of a new grandstand and modernization of thoroughbred racing facilities. The project includes replacing the 1.25 million-square-foot grandstand with a state-of-the-art 275,000 square-foot facility, construction of an all-weather synthetic track, and improvements to track surfaces and drainage systems. The new grandstand is expected to be fully operational by April 2027, with racing resuming on September 18, 2026. New York State contributed $455 million to the project via a loan to NYRA. |
