Beluga Whale Sanctuary Project in Nova Scotia

planned

A proposed sanctuary in Nova Scotia, Canada, approved by the government, aims to provide a long-term solution for eight captive beluga whales. The facility will include 100 acres of penned-in ocean and replicate the intellectual stimulation and diet the whales receive from trainers, albeit in a much larger space. The construction timeline is estimated at eight to nine months, with plans to re-home up to 10 healthy whales by early summer.
