Information Department of water resources-MH - II has come up with Bembla Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 2631.77 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Bembla Project is included under Centrally Sponsored Scheme, PMKSY-AIBP and prioritized in 2016 for early completion Its a Major irrigation Project situated in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra State across the river Bembla [a tributary of Wardha] in Godavari Basin. The main components of the project are as under- [i] 7203 m earthen dam with the maximum height of 19.06 m and 447 m masonry/ concrete dam having maximum height of 29.15 m with central spillway. [ii] Gated ogee shaped central spillway of 297 m long with 75 m long non-overflow section on either sides. The spillway has 20 radial gates each having size of 12 m x 8 m. Total Nos. of Beneficiries 23052 No. of SC Beneficiaries 2878 No. of ST Beneficiaries 1727 No. of Women Beneficiaries 691 During inclusion of Project under PMKSY-AIBP in 2016 Balance Cost of the Project was Rs 1033.99 crore Eligible Central Assistance was Rs 307.18 crore CA released since 2016 till Jan-2024- 285.23 crore State Share released through NABARD under LTIF till January 24- Rs 765.72 crore Physical progress- 95.30 percentage Financial Progress- 105.54 percentage Ultimate Irrigation Potential is 52423 Ha Irrigation Potential created till 31 Jan 2024- 50333 Ha Projected Date of Completion- 30 June -2024
