Description | The Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway is a 262-km, four-lane, access-controlled expressway stretching from Hoskote in Karnataka to Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. The 106-km stretch in Tamil Nadu between Gudipala and Sriperumbudur is under construction but has been delayed due to the relocation of high-voltage power towers and transmission lines in the Arakkonam-Kancheepuram section. The project began in 2019 and was originally slated for completion by the end of 2024, but the deadline has been extended to June 2026. The expressway is designed for vehicles to travel at 120 kmph and will reduce travel time between Chennai and Bengaluru to three hours. |
