Description
Description | The city gas distribution project awarded to GAIL Gas Limited in 2015 aims to lay pipelines in Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and Mangaluru to supply piped natural gas (PNG) drawn from the Dabhol-Bengaluru pipeline. Despite laying pipes since 2017, the project has achieved less than 5% household connection uptake, with only about 3 lakh connections provided out of over 60 lakh households. The Central Government has recently mandated a 'war footing' expansion to increase PNG connections amid the West Asia conflict. |
