Description | The Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) project in Bengaluru aims to connect Tumakuru Road with Hosur Road. A 700-metre stretch of the road will pass through the Jarakabande Kaval reserve forest, with the road elevated to 5.4 metres height and a flyover 35 metres wide supported by two piers. The project involves diverting 2.4 hectares of forest land and aims to minimize disturbance by not having a service road along this stretch. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report estimates that 631 trees will be felled within the reserve forest, with a total of 36,824 trees affected along the 73 km PRR. The project is expected to impact the forest ecosystem and requires mitigation measures during and after construction. |
