Description
Description | Relocation of high-voltage power towers and transmission lines in the Arakkonam–Kancheepuram corridor is causing delays in the completion of the 106 km Tamil Nadu stretch of the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway. The relocation involves securing new land parcels, realigning transmission routes, and addressing technical challenges. Legal disputes by landowners have further delayed the process. The expressway, initially scheduled for completion in 2024, now targets June 2026 for completion. Once operational, it will be a four-lane access-controlled highway designed for speeds of 120 kmph, expandable to eight lanes, expected to cut travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai to three hours. |
