Benin – « Complexes Polytechniques » Project

The « Complexes Polytechniques » Project is part of a general programme aimed at raising the quality and strengthening the adequacy of the education system. It provides for the establishment of the necessary infrastructure to support the implementation of the technical education programme by providing annual training for 240 skilled workers and 90 medium-level technicians. The project is the first important step towards the expansion, restructuring and reorganization of the technical and vocational education system in Benin. It includes the following components: (i) construction, provision of furniture and equipment and provision of technical assistance; (ii) strengthening of the Directorate of Technical Education of the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education; (iii) establishment of a project implementation unit within the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education; (iv) architectural files, tender documents and consulting engineers to supervise construction works.
